King Pup's NYC Blog Dog

Brings You All The Dog That's Fit To Blog

NYC dog walkers in Manhattan New York City

Here's the poop. Those wiseguys at King Pup take me for a spin every lunchtime and in return I agree to cast a beady eye over the latest dog related developments and churn out a few words for the perusal of any dog enthusiasts in earshot. It is I feel a quite satisfactory arrangement for the time being and one that I fully intend to maintain until such a time as they've had enough of me, or I become blog-tired and decide to let sleeping blogs lie - whichever comes sooner.

All Dressed Up and Nothing to Hump

November 8th, 2008

I’m referring to the one on the right. Perkins, a randy Jack Russell terrier from Shrewsbury, England, is driving his owners crazy with his incessant howling — so they posted his picture in the local lonely hearts column in the vein hope of finding a dog owner crazy enough to be searching the local lonely [...]

Man Spoils Fight Between Dog, Shark

September 30th, 2008

Jake LeNoir (pictured), a 28-month old rat terrier from Florida, is furious with his owner tonight after the spoilsporting human broke up a particularly enjoyable fight between him and a shark.
The feisty little pup - who can “handle myself, don’t you worry about that”  - was swimming off New Smyrna beach Monday when the misguided [...]

From Wolves to Wimps

September 18th, 2008

Further to my earlier post on the wimpification of dogs, a subject which I feel very strongly about, I would like to draw your attention if I may to the latest atrocity in this conspiracy.
Another dog tournament is afoot, in Howell, Michigan - and this time the winning ribbons are being allocated for such feats [...]

Stones Are The New Bones

September 13th, 2008

If you’ve ever worried that your dog’s chances of being mugged on the streets of New York were too low, then look no further than these stunning canine crime-magnets. Masterfully crafted by master craftsmen who are masters of their craft, you won’t find a swankier set of dog diamonds for less than $2-million, not even [...]

Woofstock Festival Raises Fears

September 12th, 2008

The two day festival of dog-debauchery at Kenosha, WI, is over…leaving local residents reeling as fears of another era of moral decay among dogs are expressed nationwide.
By all accounts, the event was scheduled to be a civil affair, with owners being advised to keep their dogs leashed at all times. However, like the famed Woodstock [...]

Identical Chips Off The Same Dog Block

September 6th, 2008

This is Snuppy, the world’s first cloned dog - soon available at Wal-Mart, Target and participating branches of Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Snuppy was “cloned from adult cells by somatic nuclear cell transfer.” I have no idea what that means, but I should imagine the other dog has to stay very, very still while they’re doing [...]

Purse Snatch Pupetrator Still At Large

September 3rd, 2008

Dog delinquency is on the up and it’s time to stop making excuses. Since the start of this year a total of 497 cases of muggings, stick-ups, burglaries, assaults and aggravated misdemeanors have been reported in which the prime suspect has been a pooch.
For too long now the prominent spokesdogs among us have sought to [...]

Chop Shop Sponge Mops

August 30th, 2008

This suspiciously cute little fluffy Frankenhound is one of the latest in the current craze of cut ‘n’ paste dog breeding - the art of finding two names that go together to make a catchy hybrid word and then spawning them by the truckload. Labradoodle. Cockapoo. Cockadoodle. Pugglecock. Schnauzador. Havanoodle (don’t mind if I do).
You [...]

Dog Olympics Nothing More Than Puppet Show

August 21st, 2008

This is what it’s come to. Twenty years ago, the hoop in this picture would have been on fire. The nearest humans would have been 50ft away in the stands cheering in stunned amazement upon witnessing yet another spectacular act of unfathomable canine courageousness. There would have been no harnesses, no treats — none of [...]

Attention Paws

August 16th, 2008

OK, so this really bothers me. It seems like these days some dogs will do anything to get their photo on the internet, including wearing glasses (yes, very cute) and doing human things like sitting under umbrellas. Who is this dog trying to kid?
It’s not as if you see pictures of humans sniffing each others [...]
