King Pup's NYC Blog Dog

Brings You All The Dog That's Fit To Blog

NYC dog walkers in Manhattan New York City

Here's the poop. Those wiseguys at King Pup take me for a spin every lunchtime and in return I agree to cast a beady eye over the latest dog related developments and churn out a few words for the perusal of any dog enthusiasts in earshot. It is I feel a quite satisfactory arrangement for the time being and one that I fully intend to maintain until such a time as they've had enough of me, or I become blog-tired and decide to let sleeping blogs lie - whichever comes sooner.

Identical Chips Off The Same Dog Block

September 6th, 2008

This is Snuppy, the world’s first cloned dog - soon available at Wal-Mart, Target and participating branches of Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Snuppy was “cloned from adult cells by somatic nuclear cell transfer.” I have no idea what that means, but I should imagine the other dog has to stay very, very still while they’re doing [...]

An Easy Mistake To Make

September 1st, 2008

Shillelaghs were on standby in Belfast, Ireland yesterday as members of the public mistook a stray dog for a lion and panicked. Police have not yet said whether Guinness was a factor, but it is believed to be one line of inquiry.
I for one have no trouble believing that such a mistake could be made [...]

“I Poo”

August 23rd, 2008

For the most part, dogs don’t get married. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that we have anything against the institution itself - it’s just that there’s about as much point in two dogs getting married as there is in taping two pebbles together.
For humans, love is a temporary insanity that’s curable by marriage, or [...]

Norman The Green Dog? I Don’t Think So.

August 22nd, 2008

This is Norman. A collie cross from Roden, England. Norman likes to pick things up in his mouth, carry them around for a while and then pulverize them. Like most loyal dogs, he’s also given to following his owner around wherever she goes.
Are you following? Now imagine that Norman follows his owner to the neighborhood [...]

Dog Olympics Nothing More Than Puppet Show

August 21st, 2008

This is what it’s come to. Twenty years ago, the hoop in this picture would have been on fire. The nearest humans would have been 50ft away in the stands cheering in stunned amazement upon witnessing yet another spectacular act of unfathomable canine courageousness. There would have been no harnesses, no treats — none of [...]

Pup Duds / Dog Togs / Pupparel

August 20th, 2008

Believe it or not, this isn’t a picture of two dogs. Look more closely (use your browser’s zoom function if you have to) - they’re actually humans wearing dog fur sweaters.
That’s right. Beth and Brian Willis from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, spun these ghoulish garments after spending years collecting the hairs of their beloved pets [...]

Dog Chips Not All They’re Snacked Up To Be

August 15th, 2008

For want of a brain cell, the dog was lost. Apparently the whole “dog microchip” concoction has been something of a washout because all too many harebrained humans neglect to connect their details with the apparatus itself. You have to put your cellphone on file, cretins.  But noooo….these bubble-heads think the chip’s some kind of [...]

Do Hollywood Stars Look Cuter With Their Puppies?

August 9th, 2008

Poor Lindsay. She probably stands in front of her closet for an hour every night agonizing over which puppy to wear. It looks here like she gave up and brought one of her old high school pom-poms instead.
In answer to the question - no, I don’t think Hollywood stars look cuter with their puppies. A [...]
