Civilized Means No Pack Walks!
NYC dog walkers are often seen in Manhattan with packs of up to 10 dogs or more - and while this is an amazing sight for tourists (as well as highly lucrative for the dog walkers), is it really what's best for your dog? Pack walkers may sometimes offer more time for your money, but at King Pup we believe in quality, not quantity. 30-45 minutes of brisk, continuous aerobic exercise is better than a slow-paced 90 minute pack walk during which much of that time is spent sitting outside of buildings while dogs are dropped off or picked up. From experience we know that dogs do well in appropriately matched pairs - it's a great chance for them to socialize, make a friend and still receive the same quality of exercise and attention they enjoy on your own walks together. Altogether, a more civilized form of NYC dog walking!
Safety, Care And Attention
Manhattan dog walking is not an "easy" gig that should be taken lightly - ever! It's not about shuffling around the streets gazing at the sky and listening to an iPod - your NYC dog walker should be constantly alert and remain vigilant at all times. Dogs are not aware of the dangers on the streets and roads of New York City and a good NYC dog walker pays close attention to everything around them. NYC dog walking is about the 360 degree awareness, anticipation and street sense that only comes with NYC dog walking experience! It is impossible to give 10 dogs simultaneous and constant attention on the streets of New York City, which is another reason we don't pack walk. Your King Pup dog walker has one eye on your dog and another on the world around them - guaranteed.
Love And Affection
Let's face it, if you could spend all day at home dispensing endless belly-rubs to your pup, you would! The love and affection of humans is so important to dogs that we feel a dog walking appointment without it is barely worth having. Every NYC dog deserves a close bond with their dog walker and we aim to create that bond, which only comes about when your NYC dog walker is someone who loves dogs unconditionally and who lives for working with animals. Your dog is going to love their King Pup dog walker and your King Pup dog walker is going to love your dog. That's a promise!
Respect For The Neighborhood
Manhattan residents take great pride in their surroundings and we pledge to respect your neighborhood as much as you do. This means always picking up after dogs and throwing trash in garbage cans in sealed biodegradable bags. It means curbing dogs wherever possible and not allowing them to spray trees, flower beds, stoops, buildings, trash bags or anything else inappropriate. It means being kind and courteous to neighborhood residents, behaving appropriately in your building and doing everything an NYC dog walker can do to go about their job in a way that doesn't annoy, offend or disrespect anyone who calls your neighborhood home. We love New York City, we love Manhattan and we take immense pride in our role here.
